Balia Household Staffing was founded in 2019 by Alicia Goldy — a career nanny, teacher, and former corporate professional turned mom — with one mission in mind: to bring heart, structure, and trust back into household staffing.

After years of working directly with families and understanding the challenges on both sides of care, Alicia set out to create something different — a staffing agency that truly sees the people behind every placement.

Since then, Balia has grown into an award-winning agency serving Chester County, Pennsylvania, and the greater Mid-Atlantic region, recognized for its genuine care, thorough vetting, and intentional approach to matching families with the right household professionals.

Recently, Balia paused to revamp and modernize its services — creating options that better fit today’s families. With new, flexible payment structures and a commitment to transparency, Balia continues to evolve while staying rooted in its original mission of care and connection.

That evolution also inspired the creation of Blue Harbor Babysitting Co., our sister brand serving families in New Jersey and Florida. Through Blue Harbor, we extend the same trusted quality and professionalism into flexible, session-based babysitting for both locals and vacationing families.
